Counterclockwise rotation or CCW rotation is a surgery which rotates the maxilla counterclockwise. It fixes a convex face.

Counterclockwise rotation is commonly a Le Fort 1 procedure, so it rotates only the alveolar process, the teeth and the mandible. However, it's possible to CCW rotate higher bones with multi-segmental Le Fort II or Le Fort III.

A counterclockwise rotation combined with maxillary advancement (CCW-MMA) often produces superior results compared to a so-called "straight" maxillary advancement (S-MMA).

Counterclockwise rotation, if combined with maxillary impaction, will shorten the midface. Short, compact midfaces are aesthetically pleasing on females.
