I don't see why would it matter believing in free will or determinism, it just looks like another coping mechanism for western lazy sad retards unable to project their will to do in the world.
It is. Philosophy is a poor mans science which nothing good comes from. They sit around arguing intangible theories with no logical premise til they are blue in the face meanwhile engineers and scientists advance tangible human knowledge. We get real results from science tvs, radios, computers, etc. What do we get from philosophy? A bunch of arbitrary nonsense that cant be argued for or against its highly irrational. Science gives us deeper understanding than philosophy ever could thats why real accredited scientists have stopped arguing with or acknowledging philosophers lately. Its pure mental masturbation. Thats why hawking put the final nail in the coffin. People expected him to agree with it but he said its a legit waste of time.
Look at the people that defend philosophy so much. Usually pseudo-intellectual neckbearded fedora wearing high E low T twink incels like this site. Also people like bundy manson and kaczynski yeah roll models.

If you are a failure in life and a dead-end then it's your best bet to be a determinist or to believe in god because it will keep you from committing suicide or be miserable till you die.
